Not a bad effort from Moët for mass market Malbec. I prefer many others.

Never let you down.
Enjoyed with a soft, traditional, fondue.

Aromas of cherry and oak but a bit of vegetal overshadowing some. Might mellow more by sitting. Smooth and velvety.

so gross. if I didn't have 3 boys shooting each other with nerf guns, running around my house...I would pour this down the drain.

Surdyks Spring 2015 Sale - $12.99 (compare at $17.99)

Staff Selection (Bill McCleary): This Malbec from Terrazas is a new wine that surprises with more than expected taste at a lower than anticipated price. This wine compares to Cahhors, France, the traditional home base of old world Malbec. The French Malbecs have a dry undertone of cured tobacco leafiness with a firm tannin and dark tart damson plum flavor. In Argentina, Malbec has emerged with the intense sun and sandy soil to become an aromatic celebrity with a lush fat rich frutiness and soft texture, often leaving it quite ordinary. Terrazas has found, in this Reserva, a rightful balance of French deep character and Argentine berry brightness. Musky aromas of plum and ripe fig, wood smoke, dark chocolate and a signature array of briary, herbal grassy notes give Malbec a distinct character. A floral rose flower fragrance added to the bouquet. A dense, full-flavor of darker fruit seems comfortable with a tannic thickness that never gets excessive. This is a wine of young character that has great aging potential. Give it a few years in your cellar and you will be enchanted by its maturity. Very approachable now, and would be good paired with a grilled tenderloin topped with melted blue cheese.
