The Nardi Brunello Di Montalciano 2008 evokes a warm, still afternoon in a deciduous forest, the sort where you can hear twigs snapping under your feet. Splendid, woodsy aromas of forest floor, brambles, dried leaves, mushrooms, and dried black cherries. Silky and voluptuous on the palate, with firm, polished tannins that plunge into the substrata—densely packed layers of calcareous earth, sandstone, and marl surface against a backdrop of black fruit. Dried herbs, cedar and tobacco on a lingering finish.

I must say that it didn’t agree with me... light and it’s a dry mistela! Just a bottle before the first family skiing trip

Had this February 23rd 2015. Strong mineral notes upfront on the nose and palate with bright fruit and high acid.

2nd time I've had this wine and it always has a musty taste to me. Tannins are gripping, fruit is great but a minute in the glass that disappears and you have that musty taste. Tannins remain.

Lovely ethereal Brunello: tobacco, cherry preserves, cola, violets, smooth tannins... delicious. Can you wait? Yes, but the 2013s will appeal to fruit lovers within the next few years.
