Took 2 hrs to open up, but excellent when it did. Dried roses and asphalt, complex on the palate with fine layers of red and black cherry, tobacco leaf. Long as all get out. Years to go. At Settimo Roma on the rooftop of Rome Sofitel Villa Borghese - worth the price for the view and great food/service.

Lots going on here! Needs more time of course but full of spice, earthy notes, and menthol. Loved this!

Whelming, in the modern sense of the word. The wine is actually quite traditional, and should be outstanding. Just a little dumb right now. But it was a night filled with way-too-young bottles. What can I say?
