Maremma Toscana DOC 2012, 13,5%. Made with Sangiovese grapes, aged in wood. Bottle tasted in July 2014.
Was favorably impressed by this wine, which was unexpectedly rich smooth and elegant too. Nice deep color.

Closed at first but really interesting after some swirling and decanting. Nice tart black cherry flavors with a bit of spice and great earthiness (think red clay). Smooth and balanced.
