Last bottle, and damn it's drinking fine! No new notes today, but I must identify that the waxy notes and acidity are transcendent...This bottle still has years. 🥲

Nose has dried grapefruit rind, honeydew melon, dry sage, fresh rosemary and beeswax.
Palate has ripe honeydew melon, dried lemon, lemon juice, acidic pear, orange rind with plenty of dry minerals and acidity for days. Wonderful.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading GERSHWIN (Piano Concerto in F), GERSHWIN (Variations on “I Got Rhythm,” for piano and orchestra) and STRAVINSKY (Petrushka) with the amazing Jean-Yves Thibaude as the piano soloist on the two first works presented today. Jean-Yves is by far among our favorite pianists to grace the Koussevitzky Shed stage, so graceful, yet poignant!
Hot days call for cool wines, today there are some fun ones planned for sharing.

Лёгкий бензольный тон, заветренный мёд, подсолнечное масло, ланолин, воск, сухие бледные абрикосы, лимонный сок, желтый грейпфрут, айва, длящаяся в послевкусии солёная морская вода. Среднее тело с выраженной цитрусовой кислотностью и хорошей структурой. Не сверхглубоко, но стройно и строго, минерально, с чувством места и собственного достоинства. Квинтэссенция солоноватости в вине.

Aug 12th, 2017Wonderful Mediterranean white--I'm not gonna claim that I would have called Mt Etna blind, but you can definitely taste the flinty minerality from the volcanic soil.

Moderate intensity nose showing notes of green apple and apricots with hints of honeysuckle and lemon juice. Rather diluted, fresh acidity that lingers in the mouth for a while, but not much else.
