Color is purple changing to brick red. Nose is highly floral and fruity; violet, cherry, and leather. The palate is of strawberries, cranberries and a touch of astringent oak on the finish. High acid gives the perception of juciness and the tannins provide a chalky finish. Definitely a food wine and became more enjoyable as it sat in the glass.
