Glad I’ve been patient and have two cases.

Old vines.

Fragrant, heady, lush. Solid structure and could go for longer, but the fruit and florals are magical right now.

The aromas explode out of the glass like the volcano from where these grapes are grown . Ash, spice, leather jacket and cinnamon grab your nose that is reminiscent of Moe leading Curly or Larry around a room. In the mouth a palate that matches its nose. The creaminess that only true old vines can deliver. A complete package of weightless power and concentration. If I had a nit to pick it was that after 3 hours a hint of alcohol creeped in.

Cherries and earth 👌🏻

This showed an intense, exotic and deeply layered nose, as savory cherry gave way to notes of charred meat and Indian spice, before it turned fresh and invigorating with spiced-citrus and wild herbs. On the palate, I found rich, intense yet silky textures with savory cherry and spice, giving way to sweet herbs and a hint of citrus. Is it grapefruit and brown spices or dried orange? It’s hard to tell, but the results are stunning. The finish was lifted and long with sweet tannin coating the senses as notes of sour cherry and orange peel lingered long. This is drop-dead gorgeous--a truly wild yet elegant wine.

Deep rich red fruit, earthy core, and good acidity. These are really world class wines.

Decanted a long time... this wine is intense. Medium to light bodied, mix of red and black fruit, perhaps a touch of anise, and an earthy funky core. Pretty serious grip and very good acidity.

Outstanding 2014 vintage... enjoyed thoroughly with grilled lamb chops.
