The 2018 Etna Rosso opens with a dazzling mix of crushed wild strawberries and savory herbs, complicated by smoky earth tones. It’s juicy, sapid and long, framed by mineral-tinged fruit, spice and floral notes. One of the most consistent and affordable reds coming out of Italy. $19.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, December 2020)

Cherry, tobacco, flinty mineral and graphite, tea, a little fresh oak, nice bright acids. From Perry’s, Provincetown.

Sour cherry, leather, soil, and herbs. Beautiful volcanic ash element to the minerality. Sturdy tannins and high acid. Needed air to get going but really nice once it did. Great structure.

A gift of the season. Bright and energetic. Not too long, unidimensional. Fun and satisfying with aperativo.

Really enjoyed this wine. Pomegranate, herbs, and a hint of sulfur on the nose. Tannic with a little bite. Medium body, nice complexity. Would love to have again.
