Le Vigne a Capanno Aglianico del Vulture Aglianico
Located in the heart of the production area of the Aglianico del Vulture, founded in 1990 by the D’Angelo family. Aged for 18 months in oak, aromas of berry fruits and complex scents. On the palate flavors of fresh dark berry, pepper and earthy spice. Soft tannins with medium+ finish ending with a mineral character and earthy tones.

Jul 18th, 2020One of the more interesting wines I have had in some time. Smoky game meats, fresh mint. Would pair perfectly with lamb carpaccio, which unfortunately I’m not eating presently. On its own, or with lighter fare, it’s a bit strong.

May 30th, 2018Fantastic! Nothing like aglianico grown in volcanic soil! Deep leather nose, with bold, licorice and tobaccco notes. On par with any big cab, if not superior.

Mar 28th, 2018Very interesting nose with notes of mulch, basil, dried leaves, rice flour. Tannins is pretty smooth and goes well with the medium to full body of this wine. Not the easiest wine to pair with food but the complexity is definitely there.

Nov 11th, 2017By itself it is musty and almost sour, but paired with some pasta, garlic red sauce, and meatballs it comes to life and is quite fantastic.
