This is a fantastic example of a brunello di montalcino. Brought it back from the winery in 2008, this wine is drinking beautifully at 14 years. Classic nose of cassis, hints of dried cherries, and an undercurrant of earthiness that is unmistakably Tuscan. Medium-to-full bodied on the palate with impressive levels of fruit, great balance, and a silky finish. Enjoyed with five-cheese ravioli with pasta sauce made from scratch with tomatoes from the garden and sausage, this is Italy. Awesome.
