Tensley
Turner Vineyard Syrah

I last posted on this wine in November of 2024, other than the cork breaking off the worm near the end, this again shows the cooler blue fruit spectrum, complex, long, lingering finish, great Central Coast Syrah!!

Aromas of bluefruits and earthy, mineral notes, similar flavors, like the 2009, this also shows lower ABV (13.4%), faint green bean/green olive note as well, both of these are close to showing as from the northern Rhône, really excellent Santa Rita Hills Syrah!!

Chalky, mineral aromas and flavors up front, cooler blue fruits show next, this was probably always my favorite of the Syrah vineyards Joey used, as it usually was the lowest in ABV (13.6% here) and thus showed more freshness and acidity, drinking beautifully tonight!!

Still dark purple color, ripe, rich black fruit aromas and flavors, soft, fine-grained tannins, good acidity, long, lingering finish, very good Central Coast Syrah!

Less richness and ripeness than the Thompson, this shows a bit of green tobacco aromas, northern Rhône-like, Turner was, I believe, the coolest climate of the Syrah vineyards Joey has used (and was always my favorite Tensley Syrah), should effortlessly age 7-10 more years, long, lingering finish, terrific!!
