This is how I like my Spanish red wines. More on the elegant side, indeed with quite some fruit (red cherry, cranberry) which I love. Mixed with tons of Garrigue & earthy components. Good acidity on the palate, again red fruit mixed with herbs, good finish. A really nice showing, would love to see how the 2010 or 2013 performs in the direct context.

Decant 30 or more minutes prior to consumption and you'll understand why some folks have been comparing Mencia to Burgundian Pinot Noir ( if done right) ;) ehemmm this one is done right.
