TeHo
Tomal Vineyard Malbec
Not much has changed since last taste about a year ago. Plum, blackberry, licorice, thyme, and a light tobacco note. Supple palate.
Acidity is losing some freshness and tannins has soften a bit.
Will try to keep the last bottle for another year or two.

Lightly spiced juicy dark fruits commingle with fresh herbs, and with mineral undertone. Plush, vibrant and savory at the same time. Juicy long finish.
So glad the 4th bottle finally shows properly.

My 3rd bottle finally came around with lovely red fruits leading the mineral driven nose. Should continue to develop more complexities. The palate remains supple and textured. Tannins seems to be a bit firmer than previous bottle.
3rd time is the charm.

The last bottle did not perform to my expectation. With a broken cord this time, I decided to double-decant the bottle. And it helped. The nose is a bit perfumed, showing more plum and berry notes than the previous bottle. The high-tone juicy acidity complements the supply texture really well.
Hope to see some more positive developments with a bit more aging.

The nose is quite one dimensional dominated by rich minerality. The winemakers really wanted to highlight the different soil types of the 75 year old vines of the Malbec by blending 4 lots cofermented in combination of concrete egg, open top barrel and plastic bins. And to that extend the goal is achieved. But I prefer a bit more fruits. Palate shows better thanks to velvety texture and supple tannins.
Was exited to taste this Malbec, but more is desired. Unique nevertheless.

Great nose, dark berry smell and flavor. A little dryer than most malbecs I've had. Good, full body, but not my favorite malbec.
