This 8 year old Argentinian Malbec is drinking very nicely now. Showing black fruits with earth, wood, spices, chocolates, tobacco, cola, graphite and peppercorn.
Big, bold, rich and extracted with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows some tannins (1 hour).
Delicious and peaking now, so drink up.
Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
14.9% alcohol by volume.

£12 at sainsburys. bought it because waitrose was shut, and so god that it was because this is heaps better than the catena that i usually buy at waitrose.
it’s a red wine that holds its own in conversations, like a Condoleezza Rice at Russia conferences. — 18 days ago
Amazing for $7. Not the most complex wine and the style is not typical cab, but it’s good. No green stem quality and oak is mild. — 11 days ago
Irresistible aroma of ripe black and blue fruits, dark chocolate, incense, pine nuts, vanilla, light cigar and hint of sweet soy source. The palate was ripe, plush, and elegant, with additional taste of port and spices. Velvety texture and a sweet and slightly bitter finish that lasts long after the final sip. A slightly jammy wine but in an incredible subtle, elegant, and balance way. Wow!
My first Alta Vista bottle, and I’m glad it’s their flagship wine. 75/25 Malbec/Cab, 14 months in new French barrels. — a month ago
Used with fresh and frozen fruits and ginger ale with lemonade served in a pitcher of ice.

Omg didn’t expect to feel enthused and I am at least enthusing. It’s got that good ripeness but is ohhhh so fresh in an unpretentious way like it is en pointe but it took it til age 16 for madame to approve it for pointe (not projecting real life nahhh) so it says “elegant red and black fruit with undercurrents earth” but ”oh hi I’m so ripe cause like, The sun is hot!”. Ugh I adore this didn’t expect to and I do. Egads. — 10 days ago
Great Malbec from Zuccardi. This wine isn’t the same as the name but I couldn’t find the one. Fig and chocolate notes and earth, oak and coffee on the palate. I’ve always liked zuccardi and they’ve never let me down, apart from the fact It was voted as the best vineyard in 2019. — a month ago

Dark purple color, almost black. Cassis and black fruits on the nose, chocolate, plum, raisins, some oak. Smooth tannins, medium acidity, ripe fruits, licorice, pepper, nicely integrated oak. Not particularly complex but well made wine. Improves considerably with air. — 20 days ago
