The 20th of July 2019 signifies two momentous milestones in history:

šŸŒ’ It was the day man took one small step on the surface of the moon 50 years ago (1969)

šŸ· And on that same day in 1969 Bill Taylor first stepped foot on the now renowned @taylorswines estate in South Australiaā€™s Clare Valley

This ā€˜One Small Stepā€™ 2017 Cabernet Merlot also has an older brother, the ā€˜One Giant Leapā€™ 2017 Shiraz. I was lucky enough to receive samples of both (thank you!) alongside some gorgeous MakMak moon macaroons. What a treat!

The back label tells us that itā€™s a medium bodied wine crafted to be enjoyed now. So what are we waiting for??

Here are our notes:

Deep garnet shade in the glass. On the nose I pick up sweet blackberries and cherries spiked with vanilla. Thereā€™s also a hint of tobacco leaf and some choccie šŸ« in there too. In the mouth it has flavours of black currant, blueberries and a richness of dried date/fig. Lots of flavour and a wonderful finish šŸ‘Œ

This one retails for $15 and can be found at places like Liquorland, Vintage Cellars and First Choice Liquor shops.

This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
