Taylors Wines
Clare Valley Shiraz
Taylors from the Clare Valley (South Australia) are part of the AFFW (Australia's First Families of Wine) which you can find out more about on the blog: travellingcorkscrew.com.au/blog/australias-first-families-of-wine/
Thanks to Wine Selectors I've had the opportunity to taste my way through 12 Shiraz's from the AFFW's and this is the first one! What I am planning to do is attempt to find awesome Shiraz food matches along the journey! I'm no Masterchef so they're not going to be fine dining - I warn you!
This gold medal winning 2015 Shiraz we decided to match with some smoked cheese and also the Zoosh 'Bomb Diggity' Smokey Bacon 🥓dip and they were delish! The smokiness in the cheese 🧀 & dip really brought out the fruit flavours in the vino!
Speaking of the wine.. It's a brilliant deep garnet shade on the eye. The nose is full of leather, spice, black olives and plums. While on the palate that plumminess is joined by cherry 🍒 infused acidity with a sprinkling of nutmeg and a silky mouthfeel. Give me a bottle of this, a tub of Bacon dip and that's my Friday night sorted 👵🏼
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #sample #tcweekdaywine #tctastingnotes

Good value Shiraz, an interesting wine for its price point, and Clare Shiraz is more restrained
