We bought a box of winter red wines from Laithwaites recently and this 2018 Taylors Cabernet Sauvignon from SA’s Clare Valley was one of them. We matched it to rump steak, green beans and chips 😋

In the glass it’s a deep garnet red. On the nose it’s super alluring and inviting with red, black and blue berries coming through alongside some minty dark chocolate. On the palate it’s fruit driven and juicy. Bright fruity flavours.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

received this bottle as part of my #tempchallenge pack. If you haven't noticed yet, Taylor's wines now have a temperature sensor on the back of the bottles to help you make sure you're drinking your wine at optimum temperature when the flavours and aromas will really shine (more on the blog soon). After popping this one in the fridge for 30 mins to get it to the right temperature, this is what I thought...

Pretty red-purple colour on the eye with lovely fruity aromas mixed with a touch of sweet cigar and oak. On the palate plentiful flavours of blackberries and cherries come through with some definite tannins. For under $15 it's a good quaffable red that would be perfect with some BBQ meat.

Opened up really nicely after a bit of air. Superb dusty notes of ripe satsuma plum, dark berries and very soft smooth tannins. Bloody good really!

This is an excellent warm wine. Will be perfect for winter evenings. Plenty of sweet fruit to taste and goes down pretty fast 😀 Enjoy.

Perfect, had been cellared out of temp control for a while then in, even though only 10 years it was ready to drink. Plenty of fruit up front with a very smooth end.
