I’ve been enjoying this wine for a few years now.
It is fuller and richer than I remember.
This Pinot will go the distance and I’ll continue to track its progress.
Dark fruited aroma and palate, long and structured.

After de-classifying the Foggy Hill in '15 (a decision, with hindsight, Brian Croser may regret) the '16 is back. True Pinosity, I could have savoured the aroma alone. Firm, fine and elegant tannin. A buy recommendation.

Good concentration, savoury with a long finish. Can I smell Butter Menthol?

Sweet, sappy, veers to dried herb; fruit and oak sweetness - a little framboise. Has texture, bit of substance. Good length.

Quite a novelty enjoying this one at Deep Creek, just a short distance away from Foggy Hill and Tapanappa Campground. Interesting phase of development. It’s a little stern but full of interest. Intriguing if not seductive. Cherry and musk stick aromas, touch of wood, some dried fruit on the palate, a little autumnal. Quite a firm, drying finish.

Ruddy ruby colour. Bright red fruit on the nose with notes of smoke and ash. No more than med bodied, with a really fresh character driven my zippy red fruit and sour cherry. Some sauvage notes.

This vintage is so prominent with its smoky, stemmy announcement on the nose. I’m told it will recede and integrate in time, and that the slight pale colour will deepen. Definitely something to look forward to, as the bones are impressive.

Amongst a selection of top level pinot including Beaune 1er Cru, top level Oregon pinot and a new flagship Tapanappa pinot, this really stood out. Maybe the favourite for a few people at lunch. It’s absolutely cracking and in a good place now, with years of potential ahead but also beautiful drinking today. Fragrant “pinosity” with some weight and depth. Red and blue fruit with savoury characters. Superb.

Shy little number, this one. Despite sitting in the decanter for a couple of hours, the nose is still quite closed. Actually, so is the front palate. It has a lovely flow and nice textural finish that lingers. More towards the earthy, brambly end of things than fruit driven.
