Violets and pomegranates on the nose, but the front fails to live up to the promise of the nose. In fact it’s curiously dead on the front, revealing a watery tannic structure. Lots of herbal high notes. Long astringent finish though.

i’ll cork this up and see if it improves overnight. 
24 hours later: the tannins have firmed up, but they haven’t really improved its character. Less fruit on nose, but no new fruit on the front.
The herbal high notes faded, replaced by earthy low notes. Same finish. I’ll leave my 8.8 rating unchanged.
