Tahbilk
Nagambie Lakes Viognier
2014: good typicity on the nose, orange blossom, perfume, apricot and peach. The palate is not overtly rich, with at least a flutter of freshness to liven it up. Sweet Apple, peach, nectarine and lemon zest with the floral overtones on the taste. Med to full with some glycerin texture

May 28th, 2015Thank you Tahbilk for sharing this sample of your new release 2022 Viognier with us!
In the glass it’s a yellow-green shade with wonderful aromas of fresh pineapple, a hint of ginger, a tinge of lemongrass and a lick of honey blossom. In the mouth it’s juicy with perfect acidity and moreish passionfruit, stonefruit and mango flavour.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

⚡️New Release⚡️
Victoria’s oldest family owned winery (1860) Tahbilk have recently released their 2017 vintage whites including this Viognier for $20.
You don’t see straight Viognier’s all the time which is why I was very excited to get stuck into this bottle. Typically you’ll find it in a blend with Shiraz. The viognier helps to soften the wine and add to the aromatics of these blends.
On the eye it’s a juicy pear colour. The nose is full of fresh honeydew melon 🍈, blossoms, peach and minerality. In the mouth it’s more on the savoury/herby side for me with thirst quenching, rounded citrus acidity. It made me crave a seafood platter!

Clear, pale lemon colour. Clean fragrant flowers on the nose. Dry, high acidity. Light/medium bodied. Pronounced, rich flavours of apricot, peach and citrus. Medium finish. Very good wine.
