Ripe and floral. A little too delicate and polished, if that even makes sense.

This was fairly subdued for a California wine. You could taste the Old World influence. A interesting blend. A little more Syrah than the usual GSM, but I liked it. Paired well with peppered steak.

Dark fruit and violet nose. Ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit with earth, mushroom, smoked meat, licorice and pepper. Delicious blend of Northern Rhône varietals from Paso Robles.

Tablas was founded by Robert Haas, generally considered the pioneer of bringing Rhone varieties to Paso Robles, and the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel. This is their entry level Rhone blend and its a very good one. Stewed fruits with scent of violet and touch of earthy elements. A bit of meaty note too. The palate is round yet lively with additional cherry and sweet spice note. Very smooth tannins.
