Benmarco Mendoza Malbec

The 2011 BenMarco Malbec begins with a very enticing and complex aroma of blackberry, licorice, sweet spice, violets and coffee. The full-bodied wine tastes smooth and tasty with lots of dark juicy fruit plus chocolate and coffee. The oak influence stands out fairly strong, so give it some time to breathe. The wine finishes dry and savory with good length and nice spice. This one would make a great match with a steak!

A bit flat and tart. Not bad.

Super-ripe and showing a bit of oxidation. Melds nicely with the jammy fruit, dark chocolate and coffee. Little bit of earthy funk

Very ripe fruit flavor, but enough bitter dark chocolate to balance the sweetness. Pretty bold, pretty good, too.

Blackberry fruity hells ya!

Blackberry blueberry fruit with black licorice spice and sweet tobacco spice very ripe and rich and layered on the tongue with some of that spice and black earth. Excellent

Red raspberry jelly. Toasty meaty tannins. Asphalt and herb. $16.

This was too much, too ripe fruit for me. Fortunately that hits my wife's palate. She enjoyed.
