This was the winner for me.. great balance and energy. Generous in texture but a very firm structure and drive. Built like a Highlands.

Golden color. Green fruits, fresh mountain air, cedar, incense, and pear tart. Palate is still bright and vibrant, with additional flavors of sushi ginger, grass, caramel, and the dying embers of a campfire. Medium + finish.

Regrettably, hard to find in the US. It's such a great whisky. Probably my all time favorite.

No. This is Hakushu 18, not 12. (I do not recommend 12 except for soda-wari). The 18 is very acceptable. Spicy nose, ginger & cinnamon.
