Oh my that volcanic stank. Sulfur blows off (mostly) with a long decant and vigorous swirling, revealing a peppery nose, whiffs of hickory smoke and cherry lozenge. Cranberry and brambly green herb notes on the palate. Drying tannins on the finish. Similar profile to Jura poulsard or Loire pineau d’aunis. Love the pepperiness; wish there was more fruit. Pretty austere.

I tasted 8 separate listan negro wines from this producer and each bottle was incredibly reduced. Strong burnt rubber and rotten egg, presumably mercaptan although it did eventually blow off. I tasted them each day and on day 10 they started to smell better. After 14 days they all were very enjoyable. Yes, 14 days for the sulfur compounds to retreat.

You can see through this liquid jewel like a piece of pomegranate colored tissue paper ~ wafting musky aromas reminiscent of walking out of a florist that also sells potpourri into a loamy earthen pasture ~ a flash of crunchy and vivid tart red berries quickly melds into a wild berry patch which is then dominated by said loamy earth, crushed minerals and a dusting of powdery pastilles

Stalky stemmy and minerally. Barb said pepper and ginger. Very very savoury. Whole bunch fermentation of the Listan Negro grape. Natural yeast in concrete vats. Aromas of lilies. Clean and fresh. Zero sediment. From the Canary Islands.

Huge volcanic earth characteristics. Smokey pepper. Such a fun wine for all your fatty meat needs.

Black/red fruits, smoky spice and a nice touch of salinity. The volcanic earth shows. But reduction doesn't blow off.

A nice wine with good complexity. Red berries, leather and tannins. Some potent acidity but good balance. Does not evolve significntly in the glass
