Earthy on the nose; smoky, tannic and full of fruit on the palate. Full bodied with a peppery finish. My brother wants to go to Portugal for a year and if it’s because of their wine sign me up! Grape varietals that I definitely need to learn about. A nice wine to end my week off. Back to work tomorrow.

Jammy texture and beautiful purple color. Dark fruit on the nose, plummy on the palate. Pairs well with barbecue. Has an VERY mild spicy/anise taste, not sure how to describe it but it reminded me a little bit of a “lighter” version of port. It’s fairly easy to drink and the flavor opens up after aeration.

Good, character is light, but entry and exit are very smooth.
