Stoneleigh Vineyards
Latitude Marlborough Chardonnay
Clear yellow color; nose of red fruit like apple and orange, also some pineapple and quite a strong oak profile; taste is moderately exciting, and it has a flat and a disjointed fruit-acid-dominated finish.

Nov 28th, 2017Get in my belly Chardonnay!!
We picked this Stoneleigh 2019 ‘Latitude’ Chardonnay up from the local supermarket here in NZ (yes you can buy wine & beer at the supermarket here!). Stoneleigh is situated in the heart of the Wairau Valley in NZ’s Marlborough wine region.
The vineyard was once a bed of a river and today it’s dotted with precious stones, or sunstones as they call them. These stones reflect the sunshine up to the grapes and vines to help grow deliciously juicy grapes.
And it’s safe to say this Chardy went down a treat, especially with Chardonnay lover - Mr Spittoon.
We found it a lemon-lime colour in the glass. The nose has some honeydew melon, sea salt dusted stone fruits and vanilla oak on the nose. While in the mouth it shows a bit of minerality intertwined with creamy well integrated oak and refreshing orange and grapefruit nuances. Loved the long lasting finish too!
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
