Dark glass-clinging purple. Dark fruit and patent leather on the blousy nose, echoed on the medium full palate. Medium plus acidity and medium plus tannins mark this as an archetypical Washington Syrah, with full, New World fruit buttressed by structure that calls to mind the Northern Rhône. Medium long finish continues the palate. An excellent NW US Syrah that will represent Yakima well on the dinner table with roasted or grilled meats and accompanying fall/winter fare. Drink now through 2027 or so.

Dark inky in color with a short purple rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet plums, cooked cherries, earth, oak, spices, licorice, peppercorn, coffee, chocolates, alcohol and light earth.

Full bodied with medium acidity and smooth.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, earth, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, spices, light medicine and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Syrah from Yakima Valley. Big and fruit forward, with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.

This 7 year old from the great 2014 vintage is drinking very nicely now. Drink in the next 5 years.

Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.

Thank you Wendy for sharing this with me.

Good right out of the bottle, very tasty and good by itself. A good porch wine, too.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses by the lake.

14.8% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$37.

Shaved cedar, menthol, blackberry jam, and vanilla. Broad-shouldered. Will be interesting to see how this progresses.

Pencil box and smokey cedarwood on the nose, and a racy, velvety tannin lacing a dark ripe pallet - black plum jam, black pepper, graphite, mocha, and a smooth, fresh finish. Has even a Penfolds feel to it... like McClaren Vale, but Yakima Valley. It was absolutely delicious, and went very well with smoked eggplant and lamb kabob.

Fruitier and warmer than the 2006 and 2007. Feels like it could age a little longer. With butternut squash becomes a little too sweet, like cough syrup.

A little menthol on the nose. Bright ruby color. A little meaty. Well balanced. As it sits, tartness emerges: strawberries and plums.

A little warm in the mouth... beautiful ruby color. Nicely tannic, well balanced. Lots of oak!
