Nose has blueberry jam, toasted cedar plank, cocoa powder, ripe plum, prune, spring violets, wet blackberry and corner brownie.
Palate has dried blueberry, juiced plum, milk chocolate, (light) sweet red pepper slice, semi-dried blackberry, dried raspberry with fully resolved tannins. This bottle could easily hold thru 2025, in proper storage.
Last bottle from a full case we purchased in February 2005. We're really going to miss this wine, had been our favorite Merlot of all time from CA. An epic vineyard.

Deep slightly brownish red. Invisible legs when swirled in my highball glass. Rich red fruit with cherries and black currant leading but also a strong note of leather, earth and black truffle. Very smooth and luscious on the palate with only a hint of tannin. The finish runs clean to cherries and banana on the tip of the tongue. A wine to make you love Merlot all over again.
