Sur Lie Muscadet Sèvre et Maine
Truth be told I’m a died in the wool Peppiere loyalist, so Any Muscadet has to measure up to it. This comes pretty close, just the mouthfeel alone brings it there-unctuous, satin smooth—and while the flavor may not be as nuanced as Peppiere, it’s a green apple & grassy delicious. Not light bodied either, aches for food. Just another reminder Muscadet is the underdog—and, lord forgive me—underpriced darling of whites. Etany imports. Less than 10$ on sale.

Nov 13th, 2018Holy acid ! My first impression is acidic, citrusy, with an exciting zesty finish. This particular wine is a departure from what I normally drink but goes to show that it can pay off when you step outside of your comfort zone. I feel like this wine would pair well with a plethora of different foods. I want some spicy fish, fresh sardines, or some fried heirloom tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and have fun playing with my palate. That’s the best word to describe this wine, fun. As of this writing the only pairing I have is more wine, so I’ll have to make due!
