Starfield Vineyards El Dorado Grenache 2023, California

Light reddish in color with light intensity.

Nose of raspberries, fresh cherries, strawberries, herbs, spices and black pepper.

Medium bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, sweet raspberries, currants, plums, spices, light wood, earth, vegetables and light chocolate notes.

Medium length on the finish with light tannins and tangy raspberries.

This young Grenache from California is easy drinking and spicy. Showing mild complexity with good balance.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 30 minutes of airtime. More earth notes show up as it opens up.

A lighter red that is spicy, tangy and interesting. reminds me of a light Cote du Rhône.

Would be nice to revisit it in a couple of years, and see how it evolves.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and better with a light chill.

100% Grenache grapes were aged in (15% new) French oak barrels for 18 months. A small production of less than 5,000 bottles.

14.1% alcohol by volume.

88 points.
