This really straddles the Saint-Emilion/Napa divide well. Nose is rich, smoky, plummy, with some dark minerally notes. On the palate, it’s deep but not opulently fruity. Still a significant amount of tannin, a little bit of austerity. Zero jamminess or cloying fruitiness. Will work well with rich food.

Popped the cork 2.5 hours before the the first pour - no decant. Pretty nose with vanilla and perfumed violets. There is serious weight to the palate. Chocolate and blueberries. Still some tannin and acid there. I will keep my remaining bottle for 2-5 years.

Had this with dinner last and forgot to snap a pic. I loved this cab, great year. As always wish the price was a little more friendly.

Don't drink much Merlot–this wine makes me wonder why. Delicious cedar, spice, and fruit, with a bit of green pepper.
