Lovely tobacco leaf development but still impressively youthful in color. No rush to sip this up.

Smooth and deep; this is what a special bottle is supposed to taste like

Dark red color, heavy tobacco nose, dark stone fruit and berry flavors, light mellow finish ight on tannin. Probably past peak for 2004 vintage but still very good.

Sweet malty smell, with leather and salty light tobacco, rhubarb and an aromatic sweetness too, milky rusty red with some brown, acid and aged wood come together with the clinging of acid at the end - tannin sits then abruptly ends with a woody young oak cardboard finish

Cranberry leather smell, residual sugars (and brown sugar) alcohol hibiscus smell, rich bloody purple color, tastes like woody candied aged blackberries and the balance is tremendous, great alcohol bite that comibines with aged succulent fruits and a heated final jaminess that ease and tingles through the finish.

Sugar leather oystery, alcoholic, raisiny smell, the taste is leathery and malted in some ways, you sort of sip in the smell and it clicks and then dissipates into a woody tannic nature. Rich blood red color and a slight syrupiness that’s not too sweet but in that way that a tannicy wine can be.

I have had this since release. Many years left but not a showstopper that Stags Leap once was. I think Warren may have been on vacation the day this was made

Drank 2/23/14 with steaks and potatoes on the grill. A good choice, lighter than expected.
