A country resort in the mid-20th century, popular with Hollywood due to its 1892 stone Manor House and historic gardens, legends of bootleggers and gangsters, ghosts and gypsies, a blend 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 4% Merlot, 2% Petite Sirah, 2% Petit Verdot, 20 mos French oak. Aromas of dark berry fruits, sweet spice and cedar. Flavors of blackberry and cherry, with pepper, oak and leather notes. Fine soft tannins on lingering finish ending with espresso tones. Has room to age. Tasting Sample.

Stags Leap SLV 2013 with 1 Hour breathing time. Massive black fruits, mild tannin level still with 1 hour opened. Awesome Cab at its very best. This beauty will last 15 years at least. Had to try with Great Friends Jim and Meg. This Cab evolved over 3 hours on the table and drinking it very slow, with others of course. CB 97+

Considered one of the "first growths" of Napa Valley. Deep red with black fruit and current like aromas, also noting oaky spice. On the palate raspberry, black cherry and blueberry, savory oak with a gentle sweetness adding tobacco, leather and cacao, very complex. Tannins are full and firm but just getting to approachable, time will benefit. Well balanced with lingering finish ending with earthy oak tones.

Awesome fragrance. Fruit showing great on the palate at 9 years old. Smoothed Tannins. What you would expect in a great Cabernet. October 2022.

Soft earth, barnyard, and olive on the nose. Super fruit forward with long but soft tannins in the mouth. This will age really well.

This is the 40th anniversary bottling of the SLV, commemorating the Judgment of Paris. This is a fantastic wine and is only going to get better with time.
