Merlot SHOULD be making a comeback and this winery should be at the forefront. Blue fruit and bitter chocolate and everything you didn't know you wanted in a merlot. Backed up by a tannic structure that isn't as prevalent as it is in a cab sauv and you have a great wine, let alone a great merlot.

We gave this a little time to breathe and used our aerator. This was a rich, complex merlot and we were pleasantly surprised.

And Damian's choice was... St Supery 2012 Rutherford Merlot. #stsupery #Rutherford #merlot Deep red fruits, nice tannins and extremely lush. Big for a merlot, as expected from St Supery estate grown fruit it's the Bomb baby! Candi and I are eating chocolate with it.
