Thursday 7th April: fruit day
Sample Screwcap $25 13.5%

Shows savoury intent - via some partial whole bunch (%?) - over juicy, Jubey red fruit.

Light end of medium, spice, a suggestion of spritz that gives life, vitality; Manages to pull off good presence of fruit, balanced against savoury character, soft - very fine - tannins.

A little darkness against the light - Barossa rethought.

Pretty label. Even tasteful use of the cursive. Perfect ruby red. Smells of jam, dark flowers and incense in that order. Perhaps I’d say sweet black cherry if I had to guess the jam type. Flavors are unique. Cherry brandy and a berry liquor. Something bright and tight. Has a hint of grip to the finish. It’s a nice example of Grenache. Not quite as full and pleasing as some of the Yolo County ones making waves @Nicole salengo , but this is easy drinking and nice to try. A zing from the aussie zag of Shiraz.

Really enjoyed on a casual night in. Easy medium bodied red, would go with most meals / occasions. No tang!

Notes of raspberry and strawberry in abundance. Soft tannins, but elegant, not wimpy. Loved it. $15 @ H-E-B.
