Nina Lee Walla Walla Valley Syrah
This is a delicious Syrah from Walla Walla Valley.
Dry on the palate and very fruity with blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco, chocolates, light vegetables, pencil lead and black pepper.
Full bodied with medium acidity.
Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime (90 minutes).
Tangy, tasty and rich. Big bold and beautiful.
I paired it with a Bison burger and fries.
A blend of 94% Syrah and 6% Viognier.
14.1% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$60.

Dark purple in color with a wide purplish rim.
Fruity nose with blueberries, black plums, black currants, light oak, licorice, spices, vegetables, light bell pepper, barnyard, light earth, tobacco, chocolates, dark coffee and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and fat legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, black currants, earth, light vanilla, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, vegetables, green herbs and beef jerky.
Nice finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very easy drinking Syrah from Washington State. Nice and engaging with nice balance.
Needs an hour in a decanter to open up properly, and remove some of the acidity.
Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel. This 4 year old will age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with brie cheese. Very tasty.
Wine Enthusiasts 92 points.

SVV is a limited-production winery producing estate-grown-and-bottled red wines. For more than a century, the Corkum-Derby family has been farming the area known as Spring Valley, first planting grapes in 1993, with first estate grown and bottled wine in 1999. Aromas of berry fruit with citru and pepper nose. On the is palate blackberry & raspberry flavors with oak and cracked pepper, good focus, drinks well now. Lingering finish ends on the spicy side.

Oct 3rd, 2017The 2012 is by far my favorite vintage of Nina Lee Syrah! First time that Serg has co fermented with Viognier. The Viognier has softened the Syrah while still keeping that great peppery taste and beautiful color. I have always loved the Nina Lee Syrah's, but this 2012 is so new and different! ❤️❤️❤️

Sep 3rd, 2015So it's my understanding that it's rare to find a 2004 walla walla wine because of a very cold 2003 winter that wiped out fruit. Dope massive syrah though. ;-)

Jan 6th, 2013Ripe candied black fruits with peppery and meaty notes. Dense yet silky smooth palate. Ripe soft tannins.
I think this will need another 3-4 years to peak.
