2009: very fresh, lively and elegant. Not a big hitter. Very grave-esque, cedary, tobacco, red fruited, oak, light smoke. Juicy on the palate, vibrant, refreshing acidity and layers of elegance. Red fruited, light blackcurrant. Good

2009 vintage. Inky purple hue. Black currant / blackberry, ripe fruit profile. Slight tobacco and wood oak notes, quite plush. Very youthful still. On the palate, full concentration of flavour, full body, medium plus alcohol and silky tannins. The oak is more obvious on the palate but not overdone. This is a high extraction wine by European standards but probably fairly par for the course by Napa standards. It's certainly enjoyable although it lacks subtlety and complexity at this stage of its young life. Drink 2025+.

Gnarly pepper on the nose when first opened, and a wonderfully smooth plum, spice and cherry palate with light tannins and a long fruit finish

Great balance of old world and new world all in one bottle; great acidity and balance with beautiful structure. I'm a big fan.
