Big bold Barossa, but with a heart
After a while it starts giving a little liquorice and mint chocolate and the alcohol is not so evident anymore. It has a long finish

I've heard nothing but credible and positive reviews about the booze coming from these guys; the weight of expectation can be a blessing or a burden, unfortunately in this case it were the latter. Beautiful clean nose wafts oak, candied blueberry, blackcurrants syrupy raspberry and perhaps a some dusty vegetal notes hiding too. Dry as a bone on the sweetness spectrum, fantastic juicy acid served up with a somewhat chalky, astringent tanic structure hopefully minimizing and will be silkened over time. Flavour intensity definitely indicative of Barossa Valley fruit with again blackberries, blueberries, oak and dark chocolate being the most prominent of apparent flavours. There's a beautiful coating of blueberry left in the mouth but unfortunately is up and out of here. This wine loses a few points for slight criticisms on balance and finish but definitely not writing it off for potential ageing.

Consumed over 2 nights. Beautiful, concentrated, deep flavours, balanced oak and fruit. Beautiful full mouthfeel without being fat or over ripe. Fantastic Barossa
