Spinifex
Barossa Valley Rosé Blend
On the 9th day of Christmas The Wine Gallery sent to me a bottle of Spinifex 2017 Rosé from SA’s Barossa Valley.
I was doing my Christmas baking today so I thought this rosé teamed with my Glass That Glitters Christmas songs on Spotify would be perfect for the festivities.
It’s made from 3 grapes, Grenache, Mataro and Cinsault. And it most definitely would be a great Christmas wine as you’ll find it’ll match well with everything from the charcuterie and nibbles, the Xmas ham and turkey, the barbecued prawns and even to the pavlova for dessert 🤤
It’s a pretty peach colour in the glass with bright orange highlights. On the nose think blood orange, juicy red apples and herbs. While in the mouth it’s bright and vibrant with notes of apples and pomegranates with a refreshing orange citrus finish. Yum!
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #gifted #opinionsaremyown #tcweekdaywine

The next #thetcwineclub monthly tasting box is out and this rosé was one of my picks! Let me set the scene... It was a warm Sunday afternoon, we were nibbling on cheese, meat, crackers & all sorts of tasty treats and needed a wine to match. I looked at the TC box and saw this: "Rosé is an underrated match for all your lazy Sunday afternoon antipasto sessions" - decision made! We cracked the 2015 Spinifex Rosé from the Barossa Valley.
On the eye it looks like a very inviting adults only peach cordial. Berries & apples come through on the nose with a bit of toastiness. It's dry and juicy on the palate with elegant red fruit ad subtle lemon grass flavours. The mouthfeel is rather creamy which balances out the acidity nicely. This rosé is a lovely adventure for the senses!
