Soreq ‫Winery Petit Verdot 2013 Judea Hills, Israel

Dark ruby in color with a light purple rim.

Light on the nose, with blackberries, plums, cherries, minerals, vanilla, light oak and metals.

Fruity on the attack and flat on the mid palate, with blackberries, cherries, strawberries, plums, oak and black pepper.

Medium-bodied with high acidity.

Tart finish with soft tannins and sour cherries.

This Petite Verdot is drinking nicely now, but it is still young and unbalanced. A few years in the bottle would make it better.

This Single Vineyard, 100% Petit Verdot, was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. The grapes were partially pressed and fermented for a short time, in cold temperature, on their skins.

This is from a very small winery, in the Judea Hills. Only 600 bottles produced. This one is numbered 474.

14.4% alcohol by volume.
