Meh. Confirms my bias that Portugese reds favor a smooth, not particularly distinctive profile. Thought would have more dimensions given the 70 yro vines.

Nice nose with plum and red forest berries along with almond and clay (?). The palate is well designed, a bit on the round/sweet side. Strong acid drive, nice red berries fruit shining all along, a spherical mid palate which shines in all directions, some good matter, and a long fruity finish that lasts for ever. Portuguese wines are rarely a disappointment and always a bargain for the money,
