Dark and stormy. Smells like berry cobbler and mineral oil in a good way. Flavors are a bit sharp. Extra acid? It’s a juicy and flavorful Barbera. Has some expected cherry and berry notes. Hint of pine needles. Just not very balanced. Could use more body to balance the zip. Hasn’t lost much with the aging 7 years on though.

Nov 2nd, 2021Heady nose with a hint of vanilla to go with the fruits and fire. Flavors are juicy, jammy and well structured. Licorice and cherry cola backed with a bit of toffee. Nothing out of balance nor overpowering. It is a pretty powerful wine though. A Barbera beast to go with the Sobon Zin super selection.
