Dark and stormy. Smells like berry cobbler and mineral oil in a good way. Flavors are a bit sharp. Extra acid? It’s a juicy and flavorful Barbera. Has some expected cherry and berry notes. Hint of pine needles. Just not very balanced. Could use more body to balance the zip. Hasn’t lost much with the aging 7 years on though.

Full-bodied and very fruit forward and jammy. Pretty complex for the price. Not favorite but I can see why it is popular.

Would buy again for a sweeter (cherry/fruity) red for <$15. Pretty good although a bit sweeter than wines I typically drink. Fairly simple taste.

Heady nose with a hint of vanilla to go with the fruits and fire. Flavors are juicy, jammy and well structured. Licorice and cherry cola backed with a bit of toffee. Nothing out of balance nor overpowering. It is a pretty powerful wine though. A Barbera beast to go with the Sobon Zin super selection.
