Smith Story 2016 Sauvignon Blanc (SRP $25): Who’s ready for spring? The season brings warmth, longer days, new feathered friends (yay!), green lawns, blossoming trees, pretty flowers and more. Few wines capture springtime in the bottle like Sauvignon Blanc. And this is the Sauvignon Blanc you want to open during the warm weather months, be it on the patio, poolside, a picnic, the dinner table, or a backyard get-together with family and friends. It is crisp and clean, with mouthwatering acidity propelling zesty citrus and white pitted fruit flavors. There’s a touch lemongrass, rounded out by a wet stone-like mineral quality that lingers on the finish. A well-crafted wine that is notable for its vibrant purity of fruit, fresh character, and lovely but racy texture. Learn about the fun-loving couple that produced this delicious Sauvignon Blanc and their awesome Goldendoodle at smithstorywinecellars.com. #Sonoma #SonomaWine #SmithStoryLive #wine #winelover #FindThisWine #SauvBlanc #sauvignonblanc

This almost clear wine smells as fresh as spring itself. The typical grassy notes associated with the variety are mercifully muted, as is often found in Sauvignon Blancs pulled from California vineyards. The nose also shows light citrus and wet rock components. The mouthfeel is spry and racy with a very nice level of acidity. The palate is clean, loaded with minerals and a peppery citrus zest. Lemon meets spice and everything’s nice.
