Juicy blue and black berry. Tweaky acidity, still a baby. Leaner than the nose indicates.

May 2nd, 2017Restrained nose of barrel toast and cassis.
The palette is smooth and lithe. It's very sweet, with fully integrated, glossy tannins. Extravagant notes of cassis, maraschino cherries and cinnamon dominate. 15.1% abv and the winemaker suggests that this will age for 12-15 yrs - dream on.
Way over the top for me (due to over-extraction), but wifey loved it. My rating is 90. Wifey's rating was 92.
Day 2 Update: 24 hrs has allowed a little unpacking of this juice. It's more approachable now, but it still has the potential to "wake the dead".
