The 2018 Vitovska is very pretty, showing notes of musky young peach, dusty dried flowers and almond skins. It’s soft and almost savory in the mouth, turning incredibly floral as well, displaying nuances of green apple, ginger and salty minerals. This becomes structured and dry through the finale, buzzing with residual tension yet achingly young. I’d advise a year or two of cellaring or a good decanting before checking in here. Jan 29th, 2021Wow- beautiful and expressive wine that provides both intellectual interest and just pure deliciousness. Apricot in color, the aroma sings with florals, fresh herbs, apricot and nectarine, orange zest and jasmine tea. The slightest touch of bandaid-y funk. Great ripe and juicy stone fruit on the palate, with mouth-coating acidity and soft yet present tannin. Start to finish this is like biting into a just-ripe nectarine. Highly successful pairing with salmon kale salad on day 1, and a kale and manchego egg frittata on day 2. I wish all wines were this tasty and exciting.
