Sine Qua Non
Five Shooter Syrah
Red fruit up the wazoo on the nose, with a little bit of bramble. Sweet and thick on the palate.

Nose was expressive at first and then regressed for 2-3 hours when it came back to life in a way. The palate was fairly ordinary. Definitely a let down.

The most spectacular lineup of wines I’ve ever seen, and an overall wonderful ending to an amazing trip with fantastic people.
I had the Five Shooter Grenache about two weeks ago and gave it a 9.6...this is even better! More floral and potpourri like on the nose than I was expecting. Very little bacon fat. As expected, rich and dense on the palate without being out of whack. Fresh squeezed blackberries, mocha dipped black cherries, peppercorn and a savory herbal finish. A spectacular wine...one of the best SQNs I’ve had. Bravo, @Eric LaMasters !

This was the first SQN I ever had. Huge fruits, very velvety. I didn't quite know what to make of it. Not sure I do still.

Dec 21st, 2016Perhaps the most restrained SQN Syrah I've had since E-raised. This drank like an incredibly balanced, nuanced mid 90s LaLa. Perfectly on the right edge of extreme extraction. Restraint but power in spades.
