Twenty Seven Fathoms Cabernet Sauvignon

Had a 2nd time within a week. Consistent with my first tasting. Very nice Cab with the usual suspect appeal. Would make someone a nice pairing.

Made me stop and ask who this was. I really appreciated this discovery. Can’t wait try some more.

Dark fruit, leather, espresso

Birthday bottle from friends didn’t disappoint. Beautiful scents of dark red fruit, vanilla, and dark chocolate. Plush plum, dark chocolate, and a bit of spice. The tannins have mellowed, but still strong enough to hold up against a bone-in ribeye. Long, velvety finish.

Somewhat light bodied for a cab in appearance. But nice dark chocolate flavors at first then giving way to dark berry then coffee notes. Better the second and third days after some air. High alcohol, especially upon opening. Could age a few more years but not too many.

Young. Will be great.

Good, dark red fruit. Young but not crazy tannins - Little short/thin for my taste. Prob could use a little more age.

Clean nose with some alcoholic red fruit. Tasty. Smooth. Blueberry, blackberry, jam, strawberry, some lingering tobacco chocolate notes. Really good juice, share with good friends, or easily make some new ones.

$70 from Richard at the Best Cellar... Not bad at all. Cousin Louis from Napa agrees...
