Blind tasting of six pinots - or pinot “impostors”. I like Siduri and the 2004 was still showing well.

More powerful, unrestrained & fruit forward than other Suduri Pinots I've tried. Excellent Sonoma Coast juice.

This lovely Siduri Pinot Noir is very dark-colored, big, rich, old vine mountain fruit (my recollection is that this is an old “head-pruned” Pinot vineyard, at elevation??), I can see criticism that it’s not really “Pinot Noir-like”, but like the older St. Innocent “Freedom Hill” Pinot Noirs, these wines last a long time, so even if it’s too “big”, it’s rich, intense and complex!! But, you wouldn’t ever guess, “blind”, that this was a red Burgundy. I happen to like it, as it seems youthful and fresh, with further aging potential.

Oldie but still a goodie, mountain fruit from (what I understand) is an old head-pruned block of Pinot Noir on/near Sonoma Mountain, when young it was always big, rich and structured, this bottle still shows some structure but also great, still youthful fruit, long, lingering finish, really excellent!!

Medium-dark ruby color, somewhat ripe mountain fruit, not tannic, rich and balanced, a lovely Pinot that is drinking well but should age longer!!
