Need a bit air to open up and show the fresh, cool sour black cherries backed by some mossy, mushroomy undergrowth.
On the palate this is quite dense (for a Spätburgunder) with a savory side to it, a nice firm tannic grip and the fruit in the background. There’s some meaty aromas, a bit of mushroom soup, beef stock, herbs.
This is def. a food wine, lacking the etheric charm for solo sipping but paired with food - delicious.
