It seemed a shame to use 'Hillside Select' Cabernet grapes to make a dessert wine, but the '01 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Port was definitely worth the sacrifice. Absolutely the finest domestic Port I've ever tasted. Nice sweet plum and blackberry flavors with great balance and complexity and a deliciously long finish.
